Baldwin Boxall protecting Titanic's 2012 voyagers

Safety systems company Baldwin Boxall supplied both a voice evacuation system and a disabled refuge and toilet alarm system for Belfast's new attraction, Titanic Belfast.

G4S Fire Security chose DJ Kilpatrick of Belfast as the supplier for both types of system and they opted to use products from UK manufacturer Baldwin Boxall. Belfast.

An eight zone centralised voice evacuation system provides phased evacuation to all areas of the attraction. Inputs to the system include background music, localised paging microphones, multi-zone microphones and all call fire microphones. Belfast.

VIGIL Omnicare was selected for the disabled refuge/toilet alarm system and two separate systems were installed.

The first was a six-way system for the car parks, with the second being a larger, 46-way system, for Titanic Belfast itself.

Situated at the heart of Belfast's historic shipyard, the attraction is an interactive insight into the history of RMS Titanic.

Officially opened on 31 March, it features nine galleries covering the the life of the ship from its concept to the sinking 100 years ago, plus its influence up to modern times.
